Veterans Critical Repair & Brush with Kindness Programs

Our Veterans Critical Repair & Brush with Kindness programs focus on minor exterior repairs that make a home safer, healthier, and more accessible. We have built several access ramps as well as repaired steps and porches and added handrails. We have also replaced siding and roofs.
The Veterans program is supported by funds from the Turner House. Non-veterans can also apply for repairs if they can provide funding for materials. Applicants must:
- Have lived in Northern Berkshire or Stamford, VT for at least one full year prior to applying.
- Earn no more than 80% of the Area Median Income for Northern Berkshire.
- (Veterans) Be Honorably Discharged.
- (Non-veterans) Be able to fund the costs of materials.
